Philip played James 'Mack' Mackintosh, the boss, in this series of interconnected dramas about the lives of a group of workers at a Manchester textile factory. This BAFTA winning series ran on BBC One for four series from 2000 to 2003. The series was produced for the BBC by the independent Red Production Company, and created by the acclaimed Paul Abbott.
